USC recruiting update: Coaches at Friday night high school games

Free safety Marvell Tell III may be Encino Crespi's best football player in 20 years.

Several USC coaches are recruiting on Friday night.

Coach Steve Sarkisian is scheduled to attend Encino Crespi High’s game at Mission Hills Alemany. Alemany receiver Desean Holmes and running back Dominic Davis have committed to USC, which is also recruiting Crespi safety Marvell Tell III.

Defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox will attend San Marcos Mission Hills at San Marcos. Mission Hills features cornerback DeChaun Holiday. The Trojans are considered a favorite in Holiday’s recruitment.

Linebackers coach Peter Sirmon will be in Sacramento to watch Granite Bay against Loomis Del Oro. Granite Bay linebacker Cameron Smith has signed a financial aid agreement with USC. He is on track to enroll in January.

Defensive backs coach Keith Heyward will be in Houston to watch Lamar against Westside. Lamar features cornerback Holton Hill. USC safety John Plattenburg was teammates with Hill at Lamar.
