Thousands of hopeful dancers are descending on Las Vegas as they compete for spots in the World Hip Hop Dance Championship on Sunday at Orleans Arena.

The 12th annual competition brings together qualifiers from about 40 nations, making the 2013 event the largest-ever gathering of its kind.

Dancers from countries across the globe, including Hungary, Mexico, Singapore, South Africa and Ukraine, will be among the contestants. Last year’s world champions from Japan and New Zealand will return to defend their titles before an international panel of judges at Orleans Arena.
