Amazon will open two pop-up shopping kiosks in California for the holidays. A spokesperson confirms that the stores will be in San Francisco and the state capital, Sacramento.

The San Francisco kiosk will be in a mall in the center of the city at the Westfield San Francisco Centre, at Market and Fifth streets, Geekwire reports. The mall is home to Bloomingdale’s, Tiffany & Co., and close to 200 other shops.

Reached by The Times, Amazon declined to say what the opening and closing dates of their kiosks will be, or where the Sacramento shop will be located. Amazon would not reveal if it does or does not have plans to open a similar pop-up shop in L.A.

In a statement repeated verbatim to multiple news outlets, Amazon said, “we’re excited to open new pop-up kiosks in San Francisco and Sacramento in time for the holidays so that customers can try out our new devices.”

Customers can already get their hands on products at established brick-and-mortar retailers, including Best Buy and Staples. Amazon cited that in its statement.

“While customers can already see our products online and at retailers like Best Buy and Staples, we wanted to provide another option to try out our full line-up leading into the holidays.”

What’s more, the Amazon Fire phone is equipped with a shopping feature called Firefly. Firefly allows a consumer to point at objects in the real world -- items for sale in Bloomingdale’s or any of the other retailers in the San Francisco mall, for example -- and immediately purchase that item online... from Amazon.
