Antoine Wilson joined L.A. Times features editor
Why Panorama City? "I'm mainly interested in writing about Los Angeles because I live here," Wilson says. "I wanted a piece of L.A. that hadn't been covered. Panorama City is a place a lot of people in L.A. don't even necessarily know exists."
To go along with his novel, Wilson created the photo book "The Shopping Carts of Panorama City," a tongue-in-cheek photo book by the fictional author "Jean-Jacques Arsenault." He also runs the Tumblr the Slow Paparazzo -- an entirely true photo series of places celebrities have just been -- which has been the basis of a limited-edition chapbook by the Ice Plant.
Wilson is the author of the 2007 novel "The Interloper." For more conversation with Wilson, click on the video above.
