Christopher Meloni, famous for his roles as Chris Keller on the HBO series “Oz” and Detective Elliott Stabler on the NBC police drama “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” has listed his estate in New Canaan, Conn., for sale at $4.45 million.

Sitting on a four-acre lot, the Colonial-style home was originally built in 1987 but was updated under the direction of Meloni and his wife, Sherman Williams Meloni. Soft interiors contain refinished hardwood flooring, decorative molding and rows of picture windows framing views of Oenoke Ridge and the surrounding countryside.

The nearly 11,500 square feet of living space includes a custom office, a gourmet kitchen with a center island, a living room with a fireplace, a wood-paneled billiards room complete with a wet bar and wine cella, five bedrooms, five full baths and four fireplaces.

Outdoors, an in-ground pool and spa sit between perennial gardens and a stone patio. There’s also a large barn with storage for as many as six cars.

Meloni, 53, will be returning to his law enforcement roots in the upcoming film “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For,” in which he plays a police officer named Mort. Last year, he appeared in the films “Man of Steel” and “42.”

Records show that the television and film actor purchased the New Canaan property in 2012 for $4.381 million. He previously listed the estate for sale last year at $4.75 million before pulling it from the market in December.

Mary Susan Muirhead of Berkshire Hathaway HomeService New England Properties is the listing agent.
