Gerard Way leaves his hip Highland Park neighborhood

Share

Singer-songwriter Gerard Way, co-founder of the band My Chemical Romance, has sold his home in hipster Highland Park for $1.158 million. The Midcentury contemporary contains six bedrooms, four bathrooms and 3,600 square feet of living space.

The most unusual feature of the house is the 1960s vintage fireplace next to the glass-enclosed modern shower in the master bedroom suite. A tub stands in the center of the large bathroom.

Set on a hillside, the two-story house takes in cityscape views. Multiple decks and balconies extend the living space outdoors. There is an attached carport.

Way, 39, has been working on his solo career since My Chemical Romance vaporized in 2013. He is married to bassist Lyn-Z of Mindless Self Indulgence.

The property previously changed hands in early 2015 for $1.08 million.

Anthony John Cannella of Plush Home International Realty was the listing agent. Peter Lorimer of PLG Estates represented the buyer.
