LPGA golfer Natalie Gulbis buys in Newport Beach
Professional golfer Natalie Gulbis and her husband, Power Balance co-founder Josh Rodarmel, have purchased a town home in Newport Beach for $1.4 million in an all-cash deal.
Found near China Cove in Corona del Mar, the property includes an updated kitchen, a living room with a fireplace, three bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,500 square feet of living space.
Among the features is a front courtyard and a master suite with a fireplace. A rooftop deck offers views extending from city to Catalina Island.
Gulbis, 31, joined the LPGA Tour in 2011 after earning All-American honors as a freshman at the University of Arizona. She has banked more than $4.85 million in earnings since turning pro.
Rodarmel started Power Balance with his brother, Troy, in 2006. The company, which manufactured athletic performance accessories, filed for Chapter 11 in 2011 after the health benefits of its products came into question. The company was sold to Chinese manufacturer Contec Corp. in 2012.
Records show that the townhouse came to market in February with an asking price of $1.55 million. Chuck Allen of Coldwell Banker Previews International was the listing agent. Timothy Tamura of VALIA Properties represented Gulbis and Rodarmel in the sale.
Earlier this year, Rodarmel sold a 2,200-square-foot home in Dana Point for $714,000. Gulbis maintains a 2,508-square-foot residence in Henderson, Nev., that she purchased in 2005 for $753,000.
