Hedi Slimane buys Beverly Hills home for $4.1 million
Designer-turned-photographer Hedi Slimane, who was once credited with shaping the way rock ‘n’ roll looks (right down to Mick Jagger’s skintight blue metallic jeans), just spent $4.1 million on a Beverly Hills home.
The French-born Slimane bought a 4,562-square-foot house with five bedrooms, including the maid’s, and five bathrooms. The one-story midcentury was designed by architect Rex Lotery on a 20,000-square-foot lot. The house has high ceilings, water features and glass walls. There are terrazzo floors, a step-down living room and a family room with a bar. There’s a breakfast nook in the gourmet kitchen, although the Slimane “look” doesn’t appear to include much in the way of calories -- breakfast or otherwise.
Slimane, who may still be best known for his work as the Dior Homme designer, has shot spreads for magazines including French Vogue, VMan and Purple. He also has written about 10 books, including one about London’s music scene through the eyes of Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty and another on Courtney Love.
