More pictures of HTC M7 surface on the Web

More images of the HTC M7 smartphone have hit the Web, but this time around, the pictures show the physical device and not just a computer generated image.

The M7 is the rumored name of HTC’s next flagship phone. Pictures showing renderings of the device hit the Web last week, but new pictures showed up Monday, showing what is supposed to be the actual device.

The pictures were published by Android Police, a tech news site. The unverified images show the front and back of a handset. In the pictures, it’s a tall phone that appears to be relatively thin with a rugged back -- similar to the backs of the HTC Droid DNA and the HTC Windows Phone 8X.

Perhaps the most striking detail of the alleged M7, however, is its buttons, which appear to be physical and not on-screen icons. One of Android Police’s pictures show the phone’s home and multitask buttons are switched from the norm, with the home button located on the right of the device. That’s a rare setup for Android phones.

Android Police also has screen shots of the M7’s interface. Those images show the M7 might have rectangular widgets on its home menu that look similar to the live tiles used in the Windows Phone operating system.

The HTC M7 has been previously rumored to have a 4.7-inch screen and run on a 1.7GHz quad-core processor.

HTC is expected to unveil the device next month at the Mobile World Congress conference in Barcelona.
