It's always election season in Los Angeles. On November 4, voters go to the polls for the historic presidential election, plus perhaps a dozen state ballot measures, including an initiative to forbid same-sex marriage. There are also important judicial and county runoffs. On March 3, 2009, it's the first round for the mayor and other city officials followed closely by the final round, on May 19.
