"The Book of Mormon" has added five more weeks to its return engagement to the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. A touring Broadway production of the hit musical from the creators of "South Park" is scheduled to run at the Pantages from Jan. 21 to March 16.

The Tony-winning musical initially came to the Pantages in 2012 for a 12-week run as part of the first national tour that kicked off last year in Denver. The musical has since created a second national tour, which is coming to L.A. with a cast that currently includes Nic Rouleau and Ben Platt as two bumbling missionaries sent to a remote village in Africa. Casting for the Los Angeles return is subject to change.

The original production of "Mormon" opened in 2011 at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre in New York, where it continues to be a top Broadway grosser. The musical has also opened in London at the Prince of Wales Theatre.

"Mormon," written by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone, features racy and humorous songs that poke fun at the Mormon religion (and other faiths), as well as hot-button subjects such as female circumcision and AIDS

The musical is scheduled to play at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa from May 13 to 25, as part of the second national tour.
