Kristen Bell, the former star of the cult-hit TV series “Veronica Mars,” will transport herself back to the summer of love in the Hollywood Bowl’s production of the rock musical “Hair” that is scheduled to run from Aug. 1 to 3.

The cast of the musical also will include two other young TV stars -- Hunter Parrish, formerly of “Weeds,” and Amber Riley of “Glee.”

Bell, who recently voiced the role of Anna in Disney’s “Frozen,” will take the role of Sheila. Parrish will play Claude and Riley will play Dionne. Beverly D’Angelo, who starred as Sheila in the 1979 Milos Forman film “Hair,” will play the role of the mother.

“Hair,” which will be directed and choreographed by Adam Shankman, debuted at New York’s Public Theater in 1967. It opened on Broadway the following year, running through 1972. The Public mounted a well received revival of the musical in Central Park in 2008 and later took it to Broadway.

The Bowl production will run Aug. 1 and 2 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m. Last year, the Bowl presented the musical “Chicago.”
