Daytime Emmy nominations: ‘Ellen,’ ‘Sesame Street’ among contenders

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 41st annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Thursday, with perennial favorites “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Sesame Street” and “The Young and the Restless” racking up multiple nods.

CBS led all other networks with 61 nominations, followed by PBS (44) and Nickelodeon (37), while “The Young and the Restless” was the most nominated show, with 26 nods.

The Daytime Emmys will be held June 22 at the Beverly Hilton, and the Daytime Creative Arts Emmys will be held on June 20 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel.

Outstanding children’s animated series: “Beware the Batman -- Secrets” (Cartoon Network), “The Fairly OddParents” (Nickelodeon), “KungFu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness” (Nickelodeon), “Monsters vs. Aliens” (Nickelodeon), “Turbo FAST” (Netflix).
