TV’s biggest night might as well have been twerking with all the eye-bulging moments it provided.

There were unexpected wins. In memoriam segments oddly hyped during commercial breaks. Carrie Underwood’s singing. And host extraordinaire Neil Patrick Harris -- gasp! -- not quite winning over Los Angeles Times television critic Mary McNamara: “Harris seemed off his game Sunday night.”

Those of us in the press room missed a good chunk of the show as the assembly line of winners came wandering through. But we get to present to you things you may have missed while watching from home.

Have at it.

--”Breaking Bad” took home the prized Emmy for drama -- its first. A bit of vindication for the gritty show as it gears up for its series finale Sunday. So it was only fitting that we get the cast and crew to properly acknowledge their victory with a Jesse Pinkman-esque shout out to their golden lady -- “Emmys bitch!” Enjoy it for yourselves at the top of this video.

--This year’s Emmys proved that “favored to win” is pure baloney. The night provided surprise after surprise. “Merritt Wever!” GASP. “Tony Hale!” GASP. “Bobby Cannavale!” GASP. And then ... “Jeff Daniels!” GASP. WAIT. ALSO, WHAAAA?? The hard-to-keep-at-a-low-volume level of shock when “The Newsroom” actor’s name was read was intense. The feeling was not lost on Daniels, who won with his submission of the HBO’s drama’s pilot in which he delivers that insane opening monologue. “I was happy to win, but surprised,” he told reporters backstage.

--It felt as if we were really getting to know Cannavale last night, right? Oh, you’re dating Rose Byrne? Loop thrown. And then he threw another “OMG!” fact to us backstage: He plays cards with Jon Hamm (“Mad Men”). WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO TELL US, BOBBY?

--Wondering about Michael Douglas’ shout out to his incarcerated son during his acceptance speech? Well, he wasn’t ashamed to get into it some more backstage in the press room, noting his son was placed in solitary confinement for two years. “Right now, I’m being told I can’t see him for two years. It’s been over a year now, and I’m questioning the system.” Then he pulled a Will McAvoy and started listing stats on the U.S. and the world’s prisoners.

--Derek Hough, who took home an Emmy for his choreography on “Dancing With the Stars,” had us looking up from our laptops in bewilderment twice backstage in the press room. First, when he said comparing his mirror ball trophies and the Emmy is like “apples and oranges.” Second, when he put an image in our head of Bryan Cranston watching “Dancing With the Stars.” “I just saw him and he was like, ‘Hey, I love your work,’ and I was like, ‘Don’t even talk to me. I worship you.’”
