Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds’ baby announcement crashes Preserve site

Hey there, Upper Eastsiders, Blake Lively is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Ryan Reynolds!

The “Gossip Girl” star announced the baby news Monday on Preserve, crashing the fledgling lifestyle website, which the actress launched in July.

The 27-year-old “Age of Adaline” star shared a sun-bathed snapshot of herself — taken by brother Eric Lively — cradling her burgeoning belly. The rest of the post featured Pinterest-ready baby-centric set-ups.

“Preserve at its core is about family. ‘Family’ is the single word our founder, Blake built this home on,” said the accompanying post from the site’s editorial staff, promising a monthlong dedication to expectant women and their future children. “We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realized, we don’t have anything for the new. With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all — to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family.”

It’ll be the first child for Lively and Reynolds, 37, who met while filming 2011’s comic book flick “Green Lantern.” Reynolds was still married to actress Scarlett Johansson at the time, and Lively had been linked to her “Gossip Girl” costar Penn Badgley.

After Reynolds and Johansson split and finalized their divorce in July 2011, he and Lively sparked up a romance, then wed in South Carolina in September 2012. (Incidentally, ScarJo welcomed her first child this September with new hubby Romain Dauriac.)

Vogue’s August 2014 cover girl gushed about the likelihood of her husband excelling in his upcoming paternal role.

“He’s going to be a great father and leader and patriarch — he’s so meant to be all of those things. The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he’s the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he’s become, and we get to grow from there,” Lively said of the “R.I.P.D.” star.

In an interview featured in Marie Claire‘s September issue, she was asked about her claims that she wanted 30 kids.

“I gotta get started,” she said. “If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would.”

No word yet on the child’s due date, but it’s likely that Lively is past the 12-week “safe” mark, which would put her due date in late winter or early spring.
