Shayne Lamas leaves ICU, grateful for support after miscarriage

Reality star Shayne Lamas is out of the hospital following a miscarriage she suffered earlier this month.

"The Bachelor" winner and "Leave It to Lamas" alum has left the ICU at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo and thanked fans for their thoughts and prayers during a pregnancy complication that resulted in the loss of her second child with husband Nik Richie, founder of NSFW website The Dirty.

"I've cried reading the expression of generosity and warmth from everyone," the 28-year-old said in a statement Thursday (via Us Weekly.)

Lamas was rushed to the hospital on Feb. 9 after collapsing in her Orange County home, according to reports. She suffered internal bleeding and underwent an emergency hysterectomy to stop it, had a cardiac arrest scare and was placed in a medically induced coma, TMZ said. She remained in the ICU for several days.

"I cannot thank the medical staff here enough for not giving up on me. Thank you to my father and his wife, my mother, my sisters, my grandmother and New York family, my husband's family, and to my husband for never leaving my side," she added. "Nik, your strength can never be measured. I love you."

Following her tragedy, Lamas, the daughter of soap star Lorenzo Lamas, encouraged fans to donate blood.

"To everyone out there, please donate blood. You can save a life like mine," she said. "In loving memory of my son, Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie."

Lamas and Richie, who are parents to daughter Press Dahl, chose to name their late son Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie. In a touching note posted Wednesday, Richie thanked "R.J." for saving his mother's life.

"You saved your mother's life with your passing and I will never forget how much this means to me, R.J.," he wrote. "In family, we sacrifice for each other. You gave your life for us. You showed me how to love."

"I need you to know that I held you, spoke to you, kissed you and that you'll be remembered. You are perfect. You will always be my son. I'm proud of you, always. I love you, Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie," he wrote, signing off the letter with "Dad."
