Goldenvoice unveils April side shows with Coachella acts, including Courtney Barnett and Rancid

More than three dozen acts playing the 2016 edition of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival also will headline club and theater shows around their Coachella performances, festival promoter Goldenvoice has announced.

Courtney Barnett, AlunaGeorge, Bob Moses, Miike Snow, Snakehips, James Bay and Nosaj Thing are among the acts that will do spinoff shows at a variety of Southern California venues, including the El Rey in Los Angeles, the Glass House and the Fox Theater in Pomona, the Observatory in Santa Ana, the Warner Grand Theatre in San Pedro, Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown, the Roxy in West Hollywood and the Regent in downtown Los Angeles.

Sophie will get a head start on shows otherwise booked in April with a stop March 25 at the El Rey. On the eve of Coachella’s opening weekend, April 15-17, Barnett and Alvvays will appear April 14 at the Glass House, the same night that the Silversun Pickups and Foals play the Fox Theater and Bob Moses and the Black Madonna set down at the El Rey.

Rancid is slated for a club date at the Roxy on April 19. St. Germain plays the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood on April 21 on the same night that veteran British punk band The Damned holds forth at the Roxy.
