Coachella releases festival maps

Share

If you’ve ever watched a smaller tent show at Coachella and been bugged by the bass emanating from the DoLaB tent, this year’s fest should offer some relief.

Goldenvoice released the official maps of this year’s festival layout (via Buzzbands.la), and it clearly shows that they’re creating a corner of the grounds specifically for thumping electronic music.

The Burning Man-ish DoLab has long been a haven for bass-music fans to vibe out amidst burlesque acrobatics, water cannons and a general self-contained atmosphere. It used to be in the middle of the grounds, but this year organizers have moved it to the Terrace portion of the field, between the EDM-centric Sahara Tent and the underground-focused Yuma Tent.

INTERACTIVE: Plan your Coachella schedule

It should clear up some of the grumbles that the heavier dance music has been bleeding over into some of the smaller live-act sets. In its place? A whole lot of new installation-art exhibits.

If you’re part of the growing class of Coachella-goers who come specifically for the dance music, you might not need to pass the main stages at all. Lucky for you, if you have VIP access, you’ll be right next to the fest’s new culinary haven, Outstanding in the Field.
