Britney Spears

America loves a good comeback story. We like our celebrities slightly damaged. It makes them more interesting. More human. More like us. Well never forget Mariah Careys deranged striptease on "TRL," but we will embrace her new album as long as it has some good jams. Judy Garland may have screwed up a couple of films because of an addiction to pills, but if she wants to do an amazing performance at Carnegie Hall well buy that record for decades after it was recorded. But that doesnt mean we wont revel in a bad comeback story. If Britney Spears cant get it together to effectively lip-sync her song on national television, then we will rehash it over and over and over again for weeks to come. A comeback is a treat no matter which way it goes. |
