Gringo: The Dangerous Life of John McAfee In this new documentary, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Nanette Burstein tries to unravel the bizarre behavior of John McAfee, the software mogul who created the McAfee antivirus programs, then abandoned that life to become a recluse in the jungles of Belize and then returned to the U.S. in an unsuccessful bid for the Libertarian Party’s 2016 presidential nomination. 9 p.m. Showtime

Live From New York! Originally released to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the late-night sketch comedy series, this 2015 documentary traces the history of “Saturday Night Live.” Chevy Chase, Tina Fey, Laraine Newman and Alec Baldwin are among those who offer comments on the program’s history, augmented with plenty of archival footage that includes moments that never were seen on the air. 11 p.m. Comedy Central
