In between discussing Falice and Bughead ships, “Riverdale” creators and cast members gave a sneak peak on what to expect for the show’s highly anticipated third season at the Television Critics Assn. press tour Monday in Beverly Hills.

During the lighthearted panel promoting the show and “Riverdale’s” parents, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa confirmed a flashback episode in Season 3 that will offer a “Riverdale” take on the 1985 classic “The Breakfast Club.”

“Obviously, ‘Riverdale’ [is a] much darker version of that,” Aguirre-Sacasa said. “We’re going to learn about a really, really dark secret in Riverdale that the parents have been keeping since they were in high school.”

Airing as the fourth episode of the new season, the main cast will play their parents when they were in high school for “The Midnight Club,” Aguirre-Sacasa added.

Given their popularity, Aguirre-Sacasa said he’d also consider an episode focusing on the parents of “Riverdale.”

“We’d love to do a bizarre episode where we follow most of the parents, and the kids are just on the fringes,” he said. “In Season 3, we’re in a place where we can do that. I think it’d be a blast.”

And for the “hot dads of Riverdale” fans, Aguirre-Sacasa had good news.

“We dig right into it with the premiere of Season 3,” he said.
