Almost midway through its third season, Showtime’s super-twisty spy thriller “Homeland” continues to court conversation and controversy. With its two leads — Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and Nicholas Brody (Damien Lewis) — separated by half a continent and a welter of plotlines, “Homeland” still imspires the kind of passion that keeps viewers parsing every episode and critics constantly scanning the horizon for that tell-tale shark fin.
