Netflix reveals first ‘Daredevil’ trailer

Netflix gave fans their first peek at the upcoming new series “Daredevil” on Wednesday. Be sure to watch it in a dark room.

The new series, which premieres on the streaming service April 10, is the third recent live-action Marvel series to hit screens after “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “Agent Carter,” both on ABC.

Charlie Cox plays Matt Murdock, the seemingly blind lawyer imbued with extra-sensory perception that allows him to turn in to the masked crime-fighter Daredevil at night.

The series also stars Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Rosario Dawson and Vincent D’Onofrio as the big bad guy Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin.

Rather than the high-flying adventures of Marvel’s other cinematic properties, such as “The Avengers,” the “Daredevil” series promises a more street-level view of heroics, with the title character fighting organized crime in Manhattan.

This is the first of several planned Marvel series on Netflix. The next, “A.K.A. Jessica Jones,” is currently casting and is expected to premiere on Netflix later this year.
