Teri Hatcher: ‘Desperate Housewives’ movie ‘would be great’

Dust off the Wisteria Lane set: Teri Hatcher thinks a “Desperate Housewives” movie “would be great.”

“I love the fans of the show so much, and they don’t seem to be done with those characters,” the 48-year-old actress said in an interview with Extra. “I think it would be great for them.”

The seriocomic nighttime soap ran eight seasons on ABC until 2012, with Hatcher playing the romantically questing Everywoman Susan Mayer.

But “Housewives” fans, don’t get your hopes up.

Hatcher added: “If a [movie] script ever came across my lap, I would read it, hoping that it would work out, but I don’t really see that happening.”

An ABC spokeswoman said the network had no comment.

This is not the first time the notion of a “Housewives” feature has come up. Last year, costar Eva Longoria said that creator Marc Cherry had rejected the notion of a movie because the series had made so many episodes it would be hard to take the characters somewhere new. “We won’t do a movie,” Longoria was quoted as saying.

What do you think of the possibility of a “Housewives” movie reunion?
