Law and disorder just got a big thumbs up from Fox, which has ordered a full season of its freshman legal comedy, “The Grinder.”

Although the series has not generated blockbuster ratings, it has performed adequately and has received mostly positive responses from viewers. The comedy is the second new network series to win a full-season order. ABC showed its support for “Dr. Ken” last week by giving it a full season.

“The Grinder” stars Rob Lowe as an actor who played a successful TV lawyer on a popular series. When the show ends, he returns to his small hometown, where he winds up in conflict with his brother (Fred Savage), who is an actual lawyer.

Fox Entertainment President David Madden called “The Grinder” “the perfect combination of razor-sharp wit and relatable family dynamics.”
