Monday was the 60th anniversary of the filming of the famous “subway grate” moment in “The Seven Year Itch” -- when Marilyn Monroe’s character attempts to cool off by catching a gust of air from the subway updraft. Sexy Hair, a hair product company, commemorated the occasion by setting up a grate and inviting women to emulate the Marilyn Moment.

It took hours and two locations to film the scene, which may have helped lead to the breakup of Monroe’s marriage to the jealous Joe DeMaggio. [The Guardian]
