Angelina Jolie, about to appear in ‘Maleficent,’ is on Elle’s cover

Saint Laurent designer Hedi Slimane photographed Angelina Jolie, soon to be seen in “Maleficent,” for Elle’s June cover. The magazine says the shoot “spotlights her stripped-down, very real self.” Uh-huh. Like all magazine cover shoots. [Elle]

For her not-at-all-stripped-down character, Sleeping Beauty’s nemesis Maleficent, Jolie wore imposing costumes, designed by Anna B. Sheppard and based on the look of the Disney original. She also had six different headpieces, hand-painted contact lenses, prosthetic cheekbones and specially designed collars (the latter by Spanish accessory designer Manuel Albarran.) [MovieFone]

Mariel Hemingway and her daughter Langley Fox are among several mother-daughter pairs featured in Ferragamo’s new campaign for its relaunched Fiamma bag, which was named in honor of company founder Salvatore Ferragamo’s late daughter. [The Cut]
