Attention, brides: Find a discount wedding dress and support a cause

Brides, if you’re shopping for a wedding gown, it might be worth it to stop whatever you’re doing and hustle over to Santa Ana this Friday and Saturday.

There you’ll be able to shop an inventory of new and gently used gowns and accessories for up to 75% off retail prices and help a charitable cause at the same time.

Portland, Ore.-based Brides for a Cause is putting on the event, and 50% of proceeds are earmarked for its charitable partner, Wish Upon a Wedding, a nonprofit organization that puts on weddings for couples facing terminal illness or other life-altering challenges.

The Orange County sale will feature more than 800 gowns, starting at $150 (most will fall into the $300-$400 range, organizers say). Gowns that retail as high as $4,000 will be available at half off.

Sizes range from 0 to 28, and veils will be on sale starting at $50.

Recently married? Brides for a Cause will also accept donations of gowns dating from 2008 through 2014.

The two-day sale is to take place at the Double Tree by Hilton Santa Ana-Orange County Airport Hotel, 201 E. MacArthur Blvd., Santa Ana.
