French brand the Kooples opens Los Angeles store
French clothing company the Kooples opened its first U.S. flagship over the weekend, right here in L.A.
The label, founded in Paris in 2008, offers “accessible luxury” with clothing inspired by vintage looks for men and women and created in partnership with London tailors Norton & Sons. The fall 2014 collection is in-store now.
The boutique, at 100 S. Robertson Blvd., is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Openings
A new David Yurman jewelry boutique is slated to open Thursday at the Americana at Brand, at 889 Americana Way, next to Katsuya in Glendale. The 1,800-square-foot-plus store will carry a range of men’s and women’s collections.
San Franciso-based Timbuk2, which specializes in messenger bags you can customize in its on-site workshop, is scheduled to open a Venice branch on Saturday. The store, at 1410 Abbot Kinney Blvd., will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. A grand opening celebration is planned Aug. 16 and 17, featuring beer, snacks, music, special giveaways and discounts.

Madison’s Melrose location is hosting a four-day closing sale Wednesday through Saturday. The store is at 8115 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Merchandise is 50% to 75% off, and all sales are final. Featured designers include Missoni, Proenza Schouler, Chloe, Marni, Guiseppe Zanotti, Rag&Bone, Iro, ALC, Raquel Allegra, Equipment, J Brand and Current/Elliott.
Tarina Tarantino is opening a new flagship downtown this fall and, in preparation, is having a moving sale at the brand’s Melrose location at 7957 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles. The storewide clearance began Monday, with merchandise marked down 30% to 80%. Store hours are noon to 6 p.m. daily.
Elevenparis is having a sale featuring spring and fall samples for men, women and children from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday at 860 S. Los Angeles St., Suite 513.
Rachel Pally’s spring contemporary and White Label collections are being offered at 60% to 75% off retail at a warehouse sale this weekend at 201 S. Anderson St., Los Angeles. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
