Jason Wu slated to introduce pre-fall cosmetics collection at Saks
Fashion designer Jason Wu is scheduled to introduce his pre-fall makeup collection for Lancome at Saks Beverly Hills on Thursday.
Wu is a favorite of First Lady Michelle Obama, who wore gowns he designed to both the 2009 and 2013 Inaugural Balls.

This is his second makeup collection for Lancome, and it includes products for cheeks, lips, eyes and nails.
Wu is scheduled to appear from noon to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Lancome’s national makeup artist Darais and his team will be on hand from noon to 6 p.m. giving complimentary makeovers. With any purchase of Lancome products totaling $100 or more, customers may receive a signed limited edition Jason Wu compact mirror, while supplies last.
The event will be at the Lancome counter on the first floor of Saks, 9600 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills.

M Dot Design Studio plans a pop-up this weekend hosted by interior designer Sarah Holland and featuring a selection of designers of items including jewelry, bags and ceramics. Customers will also have the opportunity to create a personalized M Dot piece and meet the clothing line’s designer Michelle Aquino. Angel Cake Pops and wine from Stacked Wines are to be served. Vision Street Wear and Us Versus Them are hosting a party from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday to introduce their new limited edition, collaborative men’s collection. The event, including Jarritos and Pabst Blue Ribbon beverages and a DJ, will be at ADBD, 430 N. Fairfax Ave., Los Angeles. The capsule collection includes a Canvas Hi shoe, two T-shirts, a tank, crew fleece and a pullover fleece.

Online fashion boutique Serene Sky has scheduled a one-day shopping event from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday featuring several pop-up shops and mobile boutiques Pekok Within and J.D. Luxe. Customers will be treated to beauty specials, including manicures, braids, blow drys and brow design. DJ Sandok is scheduled to provide music and Sweet Kacy’s to provide treats. Serene Sky is located inside Salon Thairapy, 8837 Adams, Huntington Beach.

Mara Hoffman’s first Los Angeles sample sale is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 1275 E. 6th St.
Openings
Splendid is opening its first Pasadena store on June 27, with a special celebration planned from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 26. The 1,989-square-foot store at 113 W. Colorado Blvd. carries the line’s collections for men, women, children and babies. At the grand opening event in July, guests can make friendship bracelets from Splendid fabrics with help from Little Junebugs children’s craft boutique. Treats will be served from Urban Palate and Bon Puf, and items purchased during the event will be 20% off.
