Katy Perry is the first “global cover girl” for Cosmopolitan. That means she’s featured on all 62 international editions of the magazine’s July issue. (The U.S. edition hits newsstands Tuesday.) Inside, the singer is interviewed by Chelsea Handler. Why Perry? “Katy’s music and attitude have universal appeal to young women everywhere,” Joanna Coles, Cosmo editor in chief, said in a news release. “She crosses all cultural boundaries. Her music is soulful and empowering in equal measure. She’s the first Cosmo global icon.” [Cosmopolitan]
