Paris Haute Couture 2014: Armani Prive is playful and dramatic
The event: Serious star power lighted up the Theatre National de Chaillot in Paris on Tuesday for the presentation of the Armani Privé fall 2014 Haute Couture Collection.
As Armani clients, journalists and VIPs from around the globe awaited the show, Pink could be seen sharing a laugh with Roberta Armani, Sophia Loren looking regal beside them, while Kate Hudson chatted with Jared Leto, and Chloe Grace Moretz sat beside her “Clouds of Sils Maria” costar Juliette Binoche.
The fashions: Red, black and white dominated the fashion parade, which began with sleek short sets paired with swingy capes, short coats and a variety of jackets, including one standout created of feathers worked into an open origami motif.
Considering that Giorgio Armani is a red carpet favorite, it seemed fitting that this collection ended with a dramatic succession of red evening gowns, topped in veils that were splashed in rhinestones, sequins or playfully and dramatically oversized polka dots.
