We're only five days into the charity 'stache-growing season and the Movember movement, now in its 10th year, seems to be sprouting up all over the place, from the "Today" show anchor desk to 7 For All Mankind Kind jeans to the Internet -- where Yahoo is reporting a huge spike in searches for both "Movember" and the phrase "No Shave November."
Last year a bunch of guys at the offices of L.A.-based premium denim brand 7 For All Mankind (including, we're told, the brand's president, Barry Miguel) grew out their lip spinach for the cause. Apparently the label decided to put its money where its mouth is (well, just above it, technically) and signed on as one of this year's official sponsors.

In other beard-and-mustache-related news (how often do you hear that?), the folks over at Yahoo are telling us that their search engine has seen a 517% percent jump in searches for the word "Movember" in the last week, with Minneapolis, San Diego, Seattle, Dallas and Los Angeles among the top-searching cities for the word.
While that certainly seems impressive -- and is a testament to the inroads the Australian-born movement has made into American pop culture, it pales in comparison to searches for the phrase "No Shave November" which, according to Yahoo is spiking 1166% in the same period. The cities topping that search trend include Dallas, Atlanta Columbus, Seattle and Indianapolis. We're told, not surprisingly, that the majority of searches for both terms are coming from men.
As for the most-searched style of 'stache on Yahoo this month? Bragging rights there go to the iconic "handlebar mustache."
Tonsorial trivia indeed.
