Emmys 2014: Red carpet first looks

After Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards crop top and leotard fashion fest, I’ve got serious Hollywood bod fatigue.

Gearing up for tonight’s Emmys, I’m hoping we can look forward to some more serious attire. Representatives from Ralph Lauren have already reported that “House of Cards” star Robin Wright will wear a tuxedo-style jumpsuit by the American fashion label. (In addition to crop tops, jumpsuits have been another trendy red carpet look of late. But I have no doubt the always-classy Wright will nail the look.)

Giorgio Armani will be dressing Sarah Paulson in a strapless black tulle gown with a polka dot effect. Lizzy Caplan will wear a Donna Karan Atelier black and white silk gazar and sheer organza panel gown with high neck criss-cross straps. And Heidi Klum has shared on social media photos of herself and her date Zac Posen in the limo en route to the awards. With Posen as her date, no doubt he’s her dress designer too.

I’m keen to see what pros Julia Roberts, Julianna Margulies, Kerry Washington and Julia Louis-Dreyfus wear, as well as newbie fashion plates Taylor Schilling and Uzo Aduba. Claire Danes never disappoints, and Lena Dunham always raises eyebrows.

It should be a good fashion show ... if viewers remember to tune in on a Monday night.
