Gift ideas for Mother’s Day

Before Mother’s Day sneaks up on May 11, put some extra TLC into preparations to spoil that leading lady known as Mom with a gift that is as special as she is.

Check out the ideas here, and then think about maintaining favorite child status by adding a spa certificate. With a painterly print evoking the early work of Henri Matisse overlaid on laser-cut flowers embroidered on tulle, this limited-edition bustier top begs to be shown off. Part of a capsule collection of 200 pieces that debuted this month, each piece is individually numbered. California inspiration

New color cosmetics brand Make Colour focuses on creative partnerships and donates 33% of proceeds to women-led cooperatives in the U.S. The company’s latest Celeste e Verde collection ($23-$40), a collaboration with Los Angeles native and New York boutique owner Maryam Nassir Zadeh and makeup artist Ozzy Salvatierra, has a California-inspired palette of pastels, earthy reds and ocean blues. Modern classic

In sync with the “wearable art” movement in fashion, this sculptural ring is topped off with a traditional pearl embellishment, making it a modern classic that goes with pretty much everything. Play up the mother-daughter fashion connection with matching designer dresses in a forget-me-not floral print by new children’s line Mini Preen. Luxury skin care

Upgrade her bathroom shelves with the new facial skin care range from French brand Diptyque, known for its luxurious candles and scents. Out last month, the line includes a facial spritz, cleansing balm, powder-based cleanser, exfoliant and moisturizer with radiance-inducing properties and natural ingredients, such as Damask rose, jasmine, white lily, clay and rice powder. Scent inspired by a mom

Created as an ode to her mother, the second scent from model, former editor and celebrity stylist Linda Rodin — known for her Olio Lusso skin care oils — is to launch on Mother’s Day. The heady floral fragrance has top notes of bergamot, anise flower and lemon, with a heart of rose de mai, jasmine and violet, and a powdery base.
