Stylist Erica Pelosini, Naked Cashmere team up for a travel capsule collection

These days online start-ups don’t wait long before delving into collaborations with other brands. Such is the case with two-month-old direct-to-consumer company Naked Cashmere, which launched with a Kate Moss campaign shot by Peter Lindbergh and on Wednesday will debut a nine-piece capsule collection with stylist Erica Pelosini. Dubbed Naked Voyage by Erica Pelosini, the dual gender collection comprises sweaters, robes, joggers, blankets, socks and other travel accessories and range in price from $95 to $400.

Both parties are Los Angeles-based, but spend ample time on planes – Naked founders Bruce and Leslie Gifford source their yarns in Mongolia and Pelosini often works in Europe, where she is a contributor to Italian Vogue and L’Officiel Paris, and where her husband Louis Leeman’s shoe company is based.

“Travel is such a huge part of my lifestyle for work and leisure,” said Pelosini, who blends her love of travel, luxury and the California lifestyle into the collection, which comes in nude, chalk, heather grey and charcoal.

“Erica’s jet-set lifestyle and glamorous taste are perfectly embodied in these essentials, and her Italian style makes her the perfect international face for our first venture into the luxury travel market,” said the Giffords.

There is another reason the collection was meant to be. “I ended up calling my new puppy Cashmere before this line was even a thought or conversation,” said Pelosini of her dog, who is pictured with her in the Voyage campaign and who often appears in her Instagram feed. “I met him and he was so soft, it was the first name that came to mind. The following day I was on a private flight to the Hamptons and there was Andrew, the son of Bruce, and he recognized my puppy and it all started from there. Sounds like a fairy tale, but seemed it was meant to be, as I had also been complaining that a nice cashmere blanket for the flight would have been nice.”
