Ceviche Nights at Mo-Chica

Share

For two consecutive Sundays, Mo-Chica downtown hosts Ceviche Nights with guest chefs Josiah Citrin of Melisse on Dec. 9 and Bryant Ng of the Spice Table and Kris Yenbamroong of Night + Market on Dec. 16.

Mo-Chica chef-owner Ricardo Zarate and his business partner Stephane Bombet have teamed with Joshua Lurie of Food GPS for the ceviche-boundary-pushing dinner series, partly inspired by Zarate’s planned seafood-focused cevicheria Paiche.

Zarate will feature ceviche variations as a preview of Paiche’s culinary direction, prepared with non-traditional ingredients such as duck. Each guest chef will create his own take on the traditional Peruvian dish. Each dinner also features beer pairings from craft breweries for each course.

Sunday, Dec. 9, features uni from Citrin, helping to create four ceviches and one dessert — all with sea urchin — paired with flights from New Belgium Brewing. The cost is $85 per person (which includes tax and gratuity) and $12 for a five-beer flight; additional beers available for $3.

On Sunday, Dec. 16, Ng and Yenbamroong will make six ceviches and one dessert with chef Zarate to pair with flights from Firestone Walker Brewing Co. Tickets are $75 per person (including tax and gratuity) and $16 for a seven-beer flight; additional beers are $3.

Tickets are available via Eventbrite, with 10% of proceeds benefiting American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
