ChocoChicken hosts Beer & Bourbon fest: buy a beer glass, get $4 refills

ChocoChicken hosts its first Beer & Bourbon Festival on Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m. Breweries showcasing their beers on the ChocoChicken patio will include Spaten, Stella, Hanger 24 and Drakes. Customers will receive a free beer glass when they buy their first beer and all following beers will be $4. A wine dinner takes place tonight at Petrossian, hosted by chef Giselle Wellman and Rebecca and Peter Work of Ampelos Wine Cellars. The five-course menu is $125 per person and includes wine pairings: strawberry gazpacho with pickled red beet, brioche toast and jamon, served with 2013 Ampelos Rose of Syrah; market eggplant, vacouvan and couscous, with 2012 Ampelos Viognier; porcini tart with 2012 Ampelos Pinot Noir; black-pepper-crusted duck with plum and pistachio, with 2010 Ampelos Syrache; honey crumb granola with Petrossian Tante Bella tea gelato and milk powder, with 2010 Ampelos Late Harvest Viognier. 7:30 p.m. Call for reservations. 321 N. Bourbon Steak now serves an early bird dinner menu from 5:30 to 7 p.m.: three courses for $45 per person. The first course includes your choice of wood-grilled lamb meatballs with fingerling potato, broccoli rabe, roasted eggplant and romesco; burrata with speck, heirloom tomato, and chicory; or Brentwood corn velouté with grilled prawn, padrón chile and cilantro. The second course is Brandt Farms bavette steak with whipped potato purée, horseradish and parsley salad; braised pork belly with miso butterscotch, charred spring onion, lacinato kale and white grits; or Jidori chicken breast with farro, grilled pluot and star anise jus.
