Bottle Logic joins the fast-growing Orange County craft brew scene

Share

Add another name to the lengthening list of Orange County’s breweries; opening this weekend, Bottle Logic Brewing becomes the newest craft destination in Anaheim.

Founders Wes Parker, Steve Napolitano and Brandon Buckner have been refining recipes and previewing their brews at events around Orange County as they waited through delays that pushed Bottle Logic’s grand opening from late 2013 until this Saturday.

The party starts at noon Saturday in the brewery’s spacious tasting room, and there’s some anticipation among O.C. locals for the new operation that has already released a collaboration beer with nearby Orange County beer landmark the Bruery. The tap list for the grand opening will feature a variety of beers from the brewery’s four product lines including the core brews, limited-release beers and “Cold Classics” -- modern takes on classic styles, like the She Shot First hoppy wheat ale.

Bottle Logic makes the third brewery in the the city of Anaheim -- Noble Ale Works and Anaheim Brewery are the other two -- and the city government is actively courting more new breweries looking for a home. Mayor Tom Tait told me recently how excited he is to develop Anaheim into a premier Southland beer destination through streamlining the bramble of bureaucracy that often impedes new breweries. He added that the tens of millions of tourists the city sees every year would be a boon to new breweries looking to establish their brand.

Bottle Logic Brewing is among the first in a wave of new craft breweries opening in the Southland this year, and there are half a dozen operations following close behind. 2014 is going to be a great year for new beer.
