King crab and fries at Pearl’s Sunset Strip, chef takeover at Melisse, Cut feast

If your idea of a good time is spending an evening elbow deep in crab shells, you’ll want to check out the new king crab nights at Pearl’s Sunset Strip. The West Hollywood restaurant has introduced a new special that includes a pound of king crab legs and a bowl of Kennebec fries for $27. Three-Michelin-star chef Eric Frechon, from Hotel Le Bristol in Paris, will take over Josiah Citrin’s Kitchen at Melisse Wednesday to Oct. 24. Frechon will prepare a seven-course meal that includes caviar from Sologne, glazed wild duck smoked with juniper wood, line-caught black bass en croute and more. Dinner is $195 per person. Wolfgang Puck is celebrating the arrival of the autumn harvest with a special five-course dinner at Cut Oct. 23. Puck and head chef Ari Rosenson will prepare grandeur oysters, caviar, truffles, lobster, grilled whole steaks and more. Dinner is $145 per person and wine pairings are available for an additional $80 per person. There will also be a silent auction to benefit the Napa Valley Earthquake Relief Fund.
