“Toruk,” the traveling Cirque du Soleil show inspired by the 2009 James Cameron movie “Avatar,” will land in Los Angeles this fall for a brief stay.

Cirque said that “Toruk – the First Flight” will play at Staples Center in downtown L.A. from Nov. 11 to 13. The show will also play at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario from Nov. 2 to 6.

“Toruk” takes place on Pandora, the fantastical, jungle-like world depicted in “Avatar,” but is set thousands of years before the events of the movie. The show features the tall, blue creatures – known as the Na’vi – who inhabit the colorful world.

The plot revolves around two boys from the Omaticaya clan who attempt to save the sacred Tree of Souls from a natural catastrophe.

“Toruk” is currently touring North America, with future stops including Denver, Chicago, New York and Philadelphia. The show, written and directed by Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon, debuted in Montreal in 2015 before embarking on the tour.

“Avatar” grossed more than $2.5 billion in theaters worldwide and won three Academy Awards. Cameron, who wrote and directed the movie, is working on a series of big-screen sequels.

Cirque announced earlier this year that it was canceling the North Carolina engagements of “Toruk” and “Ovo” in protest of the state’s transgender bathroom law.

The last Cirque show to come to L.A. was “Kurios,” which played at Dodger Stadium earlier this year.
