Former DreamWorks President Lewis W. Coleman turns a profit on upgraded Midcentury

Lewis W. Coleman, the former president of DreamWorks Animation, has sold the upgraded five-bedroom house for $4.35 million, or $355,000 above the asking price.
The house sits on a half-acre at the end of a cul-de-sac and features detailed landscaping in the front and back. The wood-and-glass façade is repeated throughout 5,093 square feet of interior space, as walls of warm redwood complement floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors.
Beamed ceilings hang over the sleek, upgraded kitchen, and a dual-sided brick fireplace connects the space to the adjacent family room. Two master suites, one downstairs and one upstairs, provide flexibility, and the latter connects to a private terrace.
Fleetwood doors in the living and dining rooms open to a covered patio. The grounds also hold an expansive lawn, outdoor kitchen and a pool.
Dorothy Korostoff of Deasy/Penner & Partners held the listing. Patrick Brown of John Aaroe Group represented the buyer.
The home, built in 2008 by designer Jamie Bush and the team at Osborne Architects, won the Architectural Merit Award by the Pasadena Foothill American Institute of Architects in 2012. Records show Coleman bought the place for $3.695 million in 2016.
Coleman, 75, worked in the banking industry for 37 years before joining DreamWorks Animation in 2006.
