Ex-Phillie Mike Lieberthal prices Westlake home at $6.5 million
Mike Lieberthal, the former Westlake High School baseball star who played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers, has put his home in Westlake Village on the market for $6.5 million.
The hilltop home sits behind a gated drive on more than nine acres in the North Ranch area with a Villa-style main residence, a pool house, an entertainer’s patio with a pool and spa, a basketball half-court and a putting green.
Entered through a grand foyer with a sweeping staircase, the 9,627-square-foot floor plan is highlighted by marble flooring, delicate molding and arched doorways.
Among amenities is wood-clad library/office, a media room and a great room set beneath a coffered ceiling. Other living spaces include a formal living room with a fireplace, a dining room, a center-island chef’s kitchen, seven bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms.
Set among tall palms and large fountains, the landscaped grounds are surrounded by large expanses of grass. A large motor court runs underneath a porte-cochere at the front of the residence.
Lieberthal purchased the home in 1999 for $3.5 million, records show.

Lieberthal, 43, spent the bulk of his 14-year career with the Phillies, making two All-Star teams. He was inducted into the Philadelphia ball club’s “Wall of Fame” in 2012.
The retired backstop, who owns other property in Southern California and Nevada, has been in sell mode as of late and currently has multiple properties listed for sale in Las Vegas. He sold another Las Vegas home in September for $580,000.
