Tyra Banks dresses down the asking price for her home in Beverly Hills

Finding no takers at her previous asking price, Tyra Banks has relisted her picture-perfect Beverly Hills estate for sale at $6.5 million.

The model and TV personality bought the 1920s Spanish Colonial more than a decade ago for $3.085 million and has put an estimated $2 million into renovating and restoring the home that was once owned by actress Marion Davies.

Preservation and detail of architectural elements is evidenced in the vintage French doors and hardware, clerestory windows and Travertine stone and maple plank floors. Hand-crafted tile risers lend a colorful touch to the stairways and outdoor fountains.

Within the 6,000 square feet of refined interiors is a rotunda entry, a remodeled kitchen, a library, a gym, a sun room and a formal dining room. Rustic beams and wrought iron chandeliers top a great room with a stone fireplace.

The master suite, with a model-worthy walk-in closet and safe room, takes in city views. There are four bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two partial baths in all.

French doors open to grounds filled with formal gardens, lawns, a fire pit and a swimming pool. An outdoor kitchen with seating for 12 was one of Banks’ additions to the property. There’s also a three-car garage.

The property originally came to market last year for $7.75 million and was more recently priced at $6.9 million, public record shows. Banks owns other real estate in New York and the L.A. area, including a new home in the Malibu Hills.
