Update: USC (4-0) had no issues with New Orleans on Tuesday in an 88-54 victory. Elijah Stewart led all scorers with 21 points on seven-for-10 shooting. The Trojans made 11 of 25 three-point attempts. Southern Methodist (4-1) should present a more vigorous challenge.

The Mustangs scored a 76-67 victory over Pittsburgh earlier this month at Madison Square Garden, though they were subsequently blown out on the road against Michigan, 76-54. Forward Semi Ojeleye has been a force, averaging 20.6 points and eight rebounds per game.

Gone from SMU is coach Larry Brown, who resigned in the off-season. He was replaced by one of his assistants, Tim Jankovich.
