Football: Crenshaw turns to its playmakers in City Section playoffs

Share

Despite losses in the Coliseum League to Los Angeles and Dorsey, Crenshaw (7-4) is very much alive in the City Section Division I playoffs and considered a dangerous team considering its group of playmakers capable of producing big plays at a moment’s notice.

From running back Aundre Carter to receivers Marquis Lawson and Rayshawn Williams to quarterback Daiyan Henley, the Cougars have plenty of weapons on both sides of the ball to cause trouble.

They have advanced to Friday’s quarterfinals and will face No. 3-seeded Garfield in a road game.

“We’re trying to get better,” Coach Robert Garrett said.

In a season where there’s parity in Division I for all teams not named Narbonne, Crenshaw has just as good a chance to keep advancing as any of the other seven teams still alive not named Narbonne.
