New View-Master: An article in the Feb. 14 Business section about Mattel’s announcement of a new View-Master viewer to be made in collaboration with Google described the original, introduced in 1939, as Mattel’s attempt at a binocular 3-D virtual reality headset. The original version was created by Sawyer’s; through a merger View-Master became part of Mattel in 1997.

Scorpion on plane: In the Feb. 16 California section, a brief news item about an Alaska Airlines jetliner that was delayed at Los Angeles International Airport after a scorpion stung a passenger incorrectly described Alaska spokesman Cole Cosgrove as a spokeswoman.

City Council race: In the Feb. 15 California section, an article about the District 8 Los Angeles City Council race said that candidate Marqueece Harris-Dawson had been endorsed by county Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas. It is state Assembly member Sebastian Ridley-Thomas, the supervisor’s son, who has endorsed Harris-Dawson. Mark Ridley-Thomas has not endorsed in the race.
