Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near Cayucos
A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Tuesday afternoon eight miles from Cayucos, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 12:15 p.m. PDT at a depth of 2.5 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 11 miles from Morro Bay, 14 miles from Los Osos and 21 miles from Atascadero.
In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
