Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near Calipatria, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Thursday evening six miles from Calipatria, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:15 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 0 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 14 miles from Brawley, Calif., 22 miles from Imperial, Calif., and 26 miles from El Centro, Calif.

In the past 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
