Magnitude-3.1 earthquake strikes near Soledad, Calif.
A shallow magnitude-3.1 earthquake was reported Wednesday afternoon 13 miles from Soledad, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The temblor occurred at 4:38 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.1 miles. According to the USGS, the epicenter was 15 miles from Greenfield, Calif., 21 miles from King City, Calif. and 26 miles from Hollister, Calif.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
